We opened for business on July 2, 2005 here in downtown Custer South Dakota.  We opened up with just over 6,000 books but now have over 125,000 books in our inventory!  90% of our books are out of private non-smoking estates.  We specialize in South Dakota, Black Hills, Western Americana & Native American history.  85% of our books are non fiction sorted by subject and very organized.  Let us know the author, title, or subject and we can have you in front of those books within 30 seconds!

Our goal is to provide our customers the best service they have ever received so the next time they buy a book, they are gonna think of Readers' Retreat Book Store.  We are going to grow Readers' Retreat Book Store into the largest used book store in South Dakota!
